Dedicated to the memory of Bill Procter: a good man!

No-one who met Bill Procter, forgot him. At the very least he is remembered for his smile, his laugh or more latterly his guide dog, Omar. Bill's signature head-back laugh adorns Galloway's collecting boxes exuding his optimism and positive attitude to life.

Others will remember his determination and strength of character: after all, why would age, blindness, or multiple health problems prevent him doing what needed doing? They certainly didn't stop him caring for his beloved wife Dorothy at home until her death. It was his job, and he was going to do it!

Having been involved with various good works throughout his life,  he continued his charitable work well into his 80s, collecting used stamps from local businesses and converting them into cash to support Derian House Children's Hospice and then Galloway's Society for the Blind. It might have taken him four hours to walk into Leyland with Omar to make his collections but as he said, he had plenty of time.

He is fondly remembered by his sons, Philip,  Andrew and Stuart, his daughters-in-law, Sue, Sarah and Diane, and his grandchildren, Alex, Dan, Karen, James and Rachael.

The family would like to thank all those individuals and organisations who helped Bill over the last few years. Their support was much appreciated.
